Whether it’s your first car, a family upgrade, or a work vehicle, we help you find a competitive car loan and understand exactly what it will cost — with no fine-print surprises.
New vs used
New cars typically qualify for lower interest rates because the lender sees them as lower risk. Used cars may have slightly higher rates, but the total amount borrowed is usually lower — so the overall cost can still be less.
Some lenders have age limits on the used cars they’ll finance (e.g. less than 10–15 years old at the end of the loan). We’ll help you understand which lenders fit your situation.
Dealer vs private sale
Buying from a dealer is usually straightforward — the dealer handles the paperwork and the lender pays them directly. Buying from a private seller is fine too, but the process is slightly different — the lender may need to verify the sale and the vehicle’s condition before settling.
Secured car loans
Most car loans are secured — the car itself acts as collateral. This keeps the interest rate lower than an unsecured personal loan. If you don’t repay, the lender can repossess the car, so it’s important to borrow within your means.
Balloon payments
A balloon payment is a larger final payment at the end of the loan. It lowers your regular repayments, but you’ll need to pay the balloon amount at the end — either as a lump sum, by refinancing it, or by trading in the car. It can be a good option if you want lower repayments now and plan to upgrade the car before the loan ends.
